E-motion Yoga Teachers

Meet our E-motion Yoga teachers. As a united team, we share, grow, learn and evolve E-motion Yoga to help people all over the world.

Dr. Johnathon C. Dao is the founder of E-motion Yoga.

He has been in clinical practice and involved in the healing arts for 23 years. This began as a degree in Acupuncture & Chinese medicine and includes Shiatsu and other forms of bodywork at the Australian Academy of Natural Therapies on the Gold Coast.

After practicing in Europe (Finland & Switzerland) for several years, he was then lead to study Qigong & Yoga culminating in a 10 year permanent stint in India running an acupuncture clinic & school while also studying Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy and other Sacred healing arts.

During his time in India he also attained his MD(AM) doctor of alternative medical sciences (not western medical science) under the guidance of India's and Sri Lanka's most experienced alternative medical doctors while his clients included some of Bollywood's biggest stars.

He has Co-authored a book with his Qigong Teacher and best selling author Master Mantak Chia entitled "The Eight Immortal Healers" which details Taoist Secrets to Health & Longevity and modern scientific breakthroughs in natural medicine.

Emma Grant has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and during this time has explored various Yoga traditions and styles of Yoga, including: Integral Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yoga Therapy, I-Rest as well as feminine and tantric forms of Yoga.

Emma discovered E-motion Yoga in 2015 when the founder Johnathon Dao, began teaching weekly classes at her Byron Bay studio, Red Tent Yoga. In the first E-motion Yoga class she attended it was 'Love at first Shake,' and she immediately took to the practice and included it in her daily routine. Emma appreciates the liberating nature of E-motion Yoga that allows us to release trapped emotions and stress from our bodies through the organic tremouring and shaking.

In 2017, Emma completed her teacher training with Johnathon Dao and now teaches E-motion Yoga privately, at festivals and on occasion regular classes. Emma specialises in Yoga for women and so adapts E-motion Yoga as a yin style feminine class.
